Bishop Herman Lobias Murray, Jr., is the pastor of the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church Headquarters of Dallas, Texas, and the Presiding Bishop/Overseer of the Full Gospel Holy Temple Churches, Inc. He carries a powerful mandate of God in this 21st Century to boldly win souls for Christ. Millions have been captivated by the intensity and passion of his anointed preaching and the authority he has of the Word of God.
Bishop Murray began fulfilling his call into the ministry at the age of 16. From his youth, he became a recognized servant of the Lord and an anointed force whom humbly yielded himself for service. Leading by example, he often placed himself willingly before God as an available vessel and an obedient servant to his leaders.
As a young evangelist serious about the cause of Christ, Bishop Murray founded the Soul Harvest International Evangelistic Association in 2002. This outreach ministry is dedicated to reaching out to lost souls across this nation and showing them the love of Jesus. The next year, he started the FGHT Men?s Retreat, which is a 3-day retreat for the men of Full Gospel to learn how to become better men, husbands and fathers. Bishop Murray is also the founder and instructor of the Ministry Education Class, which allows eager minds to delve deeper into God?s word and plan for our lives.
Recognizing his advancement of God?s agenda, Bishop Murray received an honorary doctorate degree in 2008 and, in 2009, he was ordained a Bishop by his grandfather, the late Dr. Apostle Lobias Murray, founder of FGHT, Inc. Bishop Murray is dedicated to seeing God?s people prosper spiritually, intellectually and financially as evident in his message of salvation, hope and love. Bishop Murray shares the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church Broadcast of Deliverance Monday night?s on the Word Network and Sunday?s on the Promiseland Television Network. He also finds time to travel across the continental U.S. and throughout the international regions, preaching the gospel and counseling to pastors and young ministers in need.
Bishop Murray is a graduate of Lobias Murray Christian Academy, the first fully-accredited, African-American owned private school in Dallas, Texas. Bishop Murray is a native of Dallas, Texas. He is married to Lady Daniele Murray and they are the proud parents of one son.
Apostle Lobias Murray
Apostle Murray (1927-2011) is the Founder of Full Gospel Holy Temple, Inc., 39727 LBJ Freeway (I-20 @ Hampton Rd.), and the now defunct Lobias Murray Christian Academy, a 12-grade fully accredited school, located at 330 Ann Arbor in Dallas, TX.
As a pastor in the City of Dallas for 50 years, he consistently dedicated himself as a Servant of God to the religious, educational, and humanitarian welfare of the Dallas community, and to all mankind.
As a Man of God, he preached an authentic, transforming, and deliverance gospel. Like a balm in Gilead, his message was the antidote for broken lives and wounded spirits. Endowed with a ministry that is evidenced by signs, miracles and wonders, souls are saved, delivered and set free by the power of God in each service. His ministry transcended ethnic barriers and reached people from all walks of life. The hallmark of his ministry was the laying on of hands for the receiving of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
In the religious community, Rev. Murray founded Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in 1961. Under his astute leadership the church expanded to a membership of over 2,500 locally, and an incorporated body of fellowship churches, numerous outreach ministries, a bi-monthly church magazine, numerous radio broadcast, and the L&S Christian Camp.
Evangelist Shirley Murray
Dr. Murray's role as Founding First Lady of F.G.H.T., Inc is befitting of the radiance, wisdom and gracefulness that she brings to the leading role. She is a woman of impeccable integrity and indomitable patience. She is one of God's anointed messengers with a message of inspiration, hope and deliverance. Her message taps deep into the inner sanctum of the soul. Endowed with a ministry of compassion, her calling extends beyond the podium and the pulpit. She is noted in Dallas, and throughout the state for her sensitivity to homeless and underprivileged persons, through her reputed Helping Hand Outreach Ministry. Founded in 1981, this humanitarian outreach gives food and clothes to needy families throughout the year. Evangelist Murray's philanthropic efforts are frequently applauded by state, civic, and social organizations with plaques and special recognition awards. Most notable among her outstanding recognitions is being awarded the Outstanding Black Texas Award by Texas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson.
Additionally, she is founder and president of the Shirley Murray Child Development Center. Under her auspices, the institution’s curriculum is designed to develop the whole child: mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Of paramount concern to her is maintaining the CARE in day care. The state licensed and accredited facility ranks among Dallas’ top preschools. Dr. Murray also serves as co-founder of the Lobias Murray Christian Academy, the first K-12th grade, fully accredited, African-American owned private school in Texas.
Dr. Murray is the wife of the late Apostle Lobias Murray, and mother of three children, the late Rev. Herman Lobias Murray, Sharon Smith, Gwendolyn Pinson and Brenda Rice.
